Standort: Terrestrisch basierendes, hemiepiphytisch und epiphytisch wachsendes Kletteranthurium, das auf beiden Seiten der Anden in Höhenlagen von 300-1500m vorkommt.
Anmerkungen: Anthurium.platylobum, Sodiro 1901, wird heute als Synonym von Anthurium truncicola behandelt. Laut Tom Croat (pers. mess.) ist es aber überlegenswert, diese Standortvariante in den Varietätsstatus zu erheben.
