Description:

Based on an exhibition at the Nunnery Gallery held in autumn 2024, In the Footsteps of the East London Group brings together 30 original paintings by members of the East London Group, paired with 20 new interpretations and responses from contemporary painters including David Hepher, Doreen Fletcher and Tim Craven.

The East London Group were a group of artists who created paintings in the 1920s and 30s of buildings, streets, and London life. They were mostly working class, realist painters whose formal education had often stopped at an early age.

The group developed from an art club at the Bethnal Green Men's Institute to a group of painters who exhibited alongside prominent artists of the day and attracted enormous press coverage and support. They were taught by Walter Sickert, John Albert Cooper, Phyllis Bray, and others.

Curated by the Urban Contemporaries Group, a London-based collective who are interested in exploring the urban experience, the exhibition features 30 original paintings by members of the East London Group alongside 20 contemporary paintings inspired by them, from leading artists working in the urban landscape tradition, including Timothy Hyman, Philippa Beale, Nicole Poh and Marc Gooderham. Each artist selected for the show has a respect and curiosity for the history of the area and for these paintings made on the streets of Bow a hundred years ago, and which open a window onto the past life of east London and an earlier period in British art.

This fascinating book brings together all the images from the exhibition in print, showcasing surprising pairings of p

Pretty Good
Color: Red Nylon Yellow Hotdog
The toy is good for a heavy chewer, but is very slippery. You may want to rough it up a bit before giving it to your dog so they can hold onto it.

Great chew toy for dogs
Color: Yellow Nylon Swiss Cheese Wedge
Very suitable toy for dogs it’s too resistant. The material is good and very safe. The size is perfect for a larger dog. They love to chew on it.

WARNING - EXTREMELY SHARP AREAS
Color: Yellow Nylon Corn on the Cob, Color: Yellow Nylon Corn on the Cob
UPDATE: The 2nd one I ordered was exactly the same with the sharp parts in the same areas as the first one. I cannot stress enough that a few points are sharp enough to cut or badly scratch. So if you’re planning on putting some food on it so your pup can lick, this is not the product you want! This could still scratch or cut the gums if used as a chew toy too though. I was thinking about sanding the sharp points but then I have no idea if that exposes any chemicals somehow? Really wanted this to work out! I took this corn on the cob toy out of the plastic to wash it and before I even got to the sink I realized there were several areas that are super sharp. A few sharp enough that could cut or badly scratch! It was sealed in a plastic bag and shows no signs of being used so this defect must happen at the manufactures level. I added a video showing how easily it snags a cotton ball, cotton pad and even a beanie. Please thoroughly check your item before giving it to your pup! I was so excited to put some smashed banana on this thing and give it to my guy and thank god I checked it first! I’m going to return it and see if a 2nd one is any better and I’ll update if it is or isn’t. Also, the super sharp spots were very hard to photograph which is why I added the video.

good purchase
Color: Red Nylon Yellow Hotdog
This thing is great for hi anxiety dogs and dogs that ned to have something to do or to chew. It will take them a while to get through to it. I was told that it was indestructible but I knew if there was a dog that could do it, it would be mine, and she did. But it took her some time. But she loves it and it keeps her busy.
