This Camp Bowie was a knife from the Journeyman Smith set submitted by the maker to receive his Journeyman Smith certification in the American Bladesmith Society.  It was forged from 5160 high carbon steel. It has been flat ground and is of hidden tang construction. The handle has a great shape and feel in the hand with a pommel flare that helps to secure your hand in place and allows for great indexing to the blade. It is assembled with a beautiful piece of Rosewood and a bronze guard. The fit and finish on this knife is exactly what  Master Smith judges look for in a Journeyman Smith knife.  Hidden tang. 8 9/16 inch blade, 3/16 inches thick on the spine, 1 13/16 inches wide, 13 13/16 inches overall. 5160 high carbon steel. Forged.

This knife comes with a black nylon zippered pouch.

About the Maker: Jaymes Stevens is a full-time bladesmith in Maumelle who has had a passion for knifemakng for over 25 years. He's currently an American Bladesmith Society Journeyman Smith and achieved The JAMES R. LUCIE Award for best Journeyman Smith knife presented during judging for his J.S. certificate and has won various awards at local knife shows including Best of Show at the 2022 Central States Knife Show. His favorite projects include bowies and culinary knives.
