The piece of limestone matrix measures 57 mm (2.25 inches) tall and the fossil ammonite measures 25 mm (1 inch). The ammonite is well preserved and has been prepared out of the rock to reveal the shell, which is perfectly preserved to the centre and has a lovely mix of yellow and brown colours. It has an unusual predation bite in the outer whorl, where a Jurassic marine predator attacked the ammonite and killed it.

A great example of the species and impressive in the flesh. The fossil weighs 70 grams and has a cut flat base to allow it to stand freely for display.
