The underside and basin exterior are unglazed/unfinished and coated with a matte white protective sealant that prevents moisture absorption and staining. Solid ceramic pieces cannot be glazed on all sides, because the nature of ceramic material requires a minimum surface area be left raw during the glaze firing process so the piece does not explode. Also for your convenience, anti-slip rubber pads are included with the brass legs to ensure steadiness. Water supply kit, drain assembly, and the faucet are sold separately.
